《halt》相關(guān)知識

stop 普通用詞,其使用范圍廣泛,可指停止任何行動、活動或狀態(tài).但需注意 stop

to do sth. 和 stop doing sth. 的區(qū)別.stop to do sth. 指停下來（為了）去做另

一件事,而stop doing sth. 指停止手中正在做的事.

1）He came to the new building and stoppedsuddenly.

他來到新大樓前突然停了下來.

2）A police car drew abreast of us and signalled us to stop.

一輛警車開過來與我們并排,示意我們停下來.

3）The child was killed when a car failed to stop at the crossing.

汽車在人行橫道線未能停車,結(jié)果把小孩撞死了.

cease 正式用詞,指停止某行動或活動,往往含某事不再存在或完全停止或終止.表示不再做

某事或停止某種狀態(tài),常用 cease to do sth. 表示停止正在做的事,也可說 cease doing

sth. .

1）The general ordered the troop to cease fire.

將軍命令部隊�；�.

2）Death occurs when vital organs, such as heart or lungs, cease to function.

當(dāng)重要器官如心臟和肺部停止功能死亡就發(fā)生.

halt 常指使正在運動中的人或物停下來,側(cè)重突然地、決定性地終止或停止某一活

動.可用作動詞和名詞.

1）The officer halted his troops for a rest.

軍官下令部隊停止前進休息一下.

2）Work was halted when the machine broke down.

機器出故障時,工作停了下來.

3）She held her hand out flat, to halt him.

她平伸出一只手掌,要擋住他.

4）They criticised the government for failing to halt economic decline.

他他批評政府未能遏止經(jīng)濟下滑.

5）Preserving the atmosphere, by both protecting the ozone layer and haltingthe greenhouse effect, is an environmental necessity.

pause 指暫時的、瞬間的中途停止,然而還會繼續(xù)進行.可用作動詞和名詞.

她停了一會兒,接著繼續(xù)講這個故事.

quit 可表示停止某事,相當(dāng)于stop, cease 或 discontinue 的意思；也可表示“放

棄”、“離開”或“退出”的意思.

別裝得像你不知道似的.

3）He decided to quit smoking for the sake of health.

suspend=“中”斷,“中”止,有點推遲的味道,之后還可以繼續(xù).譬如你有張健身卡,會員期為一年,你中間有事不能去,你可以去和gym的人說你要從6月份開始suspend你的會員期直到8月,8月回去之后還可以繼續(xù)

halt=很突然地停止,是“終”止,譬如說急剎車

cease=慢慢停止（永久性停止）,譬如說cease out,滅絕,絕跡

cease :v.終止,停止,主要指停止已存在的一種狀態(tài)或行為,多用于書面語.如：

The animal has ceased to exist. 這種動物已經(jīng)不復(fù)存在了.

halt :v.使終止,停止.如：

The soldiers halted for a short rest. 士兵停下休息一會兒.

stop: v阻止,使中斷,主要用來指停止正在進行的動作或行為,要注意后跟不定式及動名詞的不同[不定式表示還未做的事；動名詞表示已經(jīng)做的事].如：

He stopped to talk with me .他停下來跟我說話.

He stopped talking.他停止說話.

知識要點歸納：

cease感覺很正式,用在戰(zhàn)爭停火什么表達中,或者在一些文學(xué)中也常用到.

end和stop當(dāng)然也不同,end表示徹底結(jié)束了,但stop就表示停下來,感覺沒end那么徹底.當(dāng)然.還要結(jié)合上下文和具體句型以及介詞的搭配.

endless和ceaseless也差不多,但ceaseless極為正式,有點bookish的感覺.

4：halt 和 pause 有什么不同？

提示：首先可以排除D，因為不符合題目語境，然后C，repel的意思是排斥，使人反感，帶到題目中也不符合，而A， pause較為非正式，所以比較而言還是halt最合適，只是我個人看法，，嘿嘿

5：halt 單片機里是什么意思

提示：宕機的意思，就是進入休眠狀態(tài)或低功耗狀態(tài)。之后可以用中斷喚醒。
