備忘錄(memo),電子郵件(email),普通信件(letter)和便條(post-it note)
備忘錄:是商務信函中的一種,主要用于公司內部對公司的職員、部門通報信息,如會議安排、情況報告、問題處理等。在英語中稱之為interoffice memorandum,其復數為memoranda,簡稱memo。除了可以采用書面形式之外,備忘錄也可以通過email發出。英文備忘錄的一般格式如下:

Body即內容是備忘錄的主要部分,寫作應該力求簡明、確切。首先應直入主題,列出最重要的信息,然后可以具體說明事由、情況,提出意見和建議等,最后可以根據具體情況或重申主題或表示醫院或感謝。需要指出的是,備忘錄得末尾不需要簽名。

memo(備忘錄)總體上應包括這幾部分:To, From, Date, Subject以及正文部分。具體而言:
To: 備忘錄對象
如果具體到人,最好寫出全名,尤其不能“重名”,如Bill Tom,Bill和Tom都是名(Given name),而不是姓(Family name),一個簡單的處理方法就是use others name,比如男名Bill Gates, Michael Scofield, Jay Chou或女名Britney Spears, Jennifer Aniston等;若顯示關系親密,還可以把名字縮寫,比如B. Gates, M. Scofield, J. Chou, B. Spears, J. Aniston等;如果寫給上級,還應該加上尊稱甚至職位,比如Mr. Bill Gates — Managing Director, Mr. Jay Chou — Art Director等;現代商務寫作中流行開放標點(Open Punctuation),即標點不影響理解的時候可以不用,所以Mr./Ms./Mrs.后面的省略點也可以省去,簡單寫成Mr/Ms/Mrs;最好不要省去名字。

要點同上,一般不用尊稱,只有對方不知道自己身份的時候才后綴職位名稱。

BEC屬于英聯邦國家的考試,日期的寫法一般為日、月、年,比如7 December 2002,注意月份用英文而不是數字,以免和日期混淆,可以縮寫,比如將一月寫作Jan(也可以用開放標點)。
